The Juma Institute has been helping protect local indigenous peoples in the Altamira region against covid-19. Together with partners, the institute organizes for large donations of materials to be delivered the Special Indigenous Sanitary District – DSEI
So far, three large shipments have been arranged and delivered by the Institute with donations from Coordination of Indigenous Organizations in the Brazilian Amazon – COIAB. The donations include masks, oxygen tanks, covid tests, soap and other medical equipment and hygiene products.
The Juma Institute is committed to caring for the health and wellbeing of indigenous communities and open to work with an array of partners to make this happen. We send our deep regards to all those who have lost loved ones during this difficult times and will continue to work towards a heathy middle Xingu.
