On April 2, 2025, the territorial agents of TI Xipaya and some members of RESEX Riozinho do Anfrísio began an expedition in the forest which will last an average of 90 days and aims to cover the territory’s boundaries in order to revitalize and identify new areas of use such as andirobais and copaibais, as well as monitoring illegal activities.

The Juma Institute is a direct supporter of this project run by the Pyjahyry Xipaya Association – AIPHX. Two institutions whose mission is to protect, conserve and safeguard the TI Xipaya and the environment.

We have the support of The Indigenous Peoples Assistance Facility – IPAF, as well as the institutions SAMA – HIH, FUNAI, ISA and the Laboratory of Forest Management, Technologies and Amazonian Communities – UFPA.

This expedition, carried out with courage and determination, is a milestone in the preservation of culture and biodiversity and highlights the unity of the Xipaya Indigenous Land.
